An impressive site that takes full advantage of the Internet.

Welcome to Aislínge's I.B.E.W. Page

There are too many sites that I would recommend to put on one little page, so I am dedicating this page to the truly electrifying links I have come across affiliated with I.B.E.W. - The International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers.

Ray building his work roomMy father has been a member 25 years now, and I am a strong supporter of this union. Some of the members have supplied their own homepages to show their support for the union and more specifically, their local. This is wonderful for many reasons - more exposure for I.B.E.W. and each local, more ways of reaching out to future electricians. And this also goes a long way toward dispelling the very misguided notion that blue-collar workers are in any way less than "professional" white collar workers. Look at these different sites, all posted by regular people, and see just how amazing these guys really are!

Naturally, my affiliation is to Local 102, and special mention goes to Vinny McBride, who is like family to me and too special for a great many reasons - slante maithe, Vinny; Patsy Della Cava, Lou Baram, Batty Matty, and the many guys who have been team members from bowling: Monocosis, Trojanowski, Joe the Hat, The Gaitas (Sr. and Jr.), Alphabet and Rillo (a team of their own) and Pond Scum (you know who you are); the brothers Novak/Novik; Bobby McBride, and too, too many others to mention.

Ray Kellogg hard at work

Ray is now working at Loews Theatre, near Elizabeth, NJ. He is working on the junction boxes and energizing new theatres added to the main building. This is looking to be a banner year for Local 102, with lots of work and construction! It is always a good sign when there is a short list and nearly everyone is working.

My father has done work all over the place - he did the original wiring on the Fortunoff's store in Wayne; Marcal Paper Co (more than once); Hoffmann-LaRoche, one of the leading pharmaceuticals companies; the West Nyack Mall (now known as the Palisades Plaza); the subways of New York City for Local 3; and many, many other places. He loves his work and is very good at what he does. The stamp of his work is all over my house!
